Marta Sosa Navarro and Aurora Saibene will participate in the Round Table co-organized by the Interest Group on Health and International Law of the Italian Society of International Law (SIDI) and TecSEDU. The TecSEDU laboratory is organizing the presentation of the book Decidere con l’IA. Intelligenze artificiali e naturali nel diritto by Amedeo Santosuosso and Giovanni Sartor. The authors will be present, with contributions from Giuseppe Vaciago, Francesca Fiecconi, and Silvia Salardi, and the session will be moderated by Carla Gulotta.

Starting on October 9, 2025, the Bbetween program "Emerging Technologies and Surveillance: A Reflection Through Cinema," organized by the TecSEDU laboratory, will begin. Francesco Stocchi and Marta Sosa Navarro present their monographs during the lecture of the Degree Course taught by Carla Gulotta. The monographs are titled as follows: Neuroscienze e applicazioni in ambito forense: profili filosofici ed etico-giuridici (Giappichelli, 2025); The role of soft law in the regulation and governance of human rights challenges posed by neurotechnology (Giappichelli, 2025).

On February 19th, 2026, Silvia Salardi gave a talk titled “Ethical principles for public health screening” at the conference “Newborn genomic screening (gNBS): A public health necessity in the 21st century”, organized by First Steps. We are pleased to announce the participation of our founding member Silvia Salardi at the FuturoPresente Festival – Science, Ethics, Society, taking place in Parma from October 24 to 26, 2025. Silvia will speak in the session “Between Human and Artificial: Challenges on the Neurotech Horizon,” focused on the transformations and ethical dilemmas arising at the intersection of neural technologies and artificial intelligence. This event concludes a busy October, full of activities featuring members of the TecSEDU laboratory.

The TecSEDU Laboratory, in collaboration with ReGAInS, presents an interactive seminar on cognitive reasoning and generative artificial intelligence. The session explores how advanced language models (LLMs) may appear to “reason,” while often operating in unpredictable or non-linear ways. The seminar invites law students, computer scientists, and ethics experts to: Analyze concrete risks arising from the use of LLMs, for example in healthcare communication; Discuss the legal and technical implications related to explainability, fairness, and transparency; Build a shared vocabulary for responsible AI governance through interdisciplinary case studies and guided discussions. The seminar is also open to remote participants: the link to join will be shared on the day of the event.
