The TecSEDU Laboratory – Emerging Technologies, Society, Ethics, and Human Rights – promotes research, training, and awareness activities on the technical, ethical, and legal implications associated with the adoption of emerging technologies. It brings together the expertise of its founding members from the Department of Economics and Business Sciences and Law for the Economy (Di.SEA.DE), the Department of Computer Science, Systems, and Communication (DISCo), and the School of Law at the University of Milano-Bicocca.
RESEARCH AREAS
Ethics and law of technology
We explore the ethical challenges posed by emerging technologies and their impact on society, analyzing them through the lens of the human rights framework.
AI and neurotechnologies
We study the technical aspects of emerging technologies, focusing in particular on the computational methods underlying their functioning and on the widespread use of consumer wearable technologies that operate using AI-based methods
Digital society and rights
We study the social implications of emerging technologies and their impact on human rights, promoting ethical and responsible solutions.
